GENERAL FAQs

What are our opening times?

Both East Ravendale and Litlle Cawthorpe are open to the public for retail sales 9am – 5pm from Saturday 30th November, 7 days a week until Christmas Eve.

What type of payments are accepted?

We accept cash, card, contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Can I cut my own tree?

Yes. At Little Cawthorpe near Louth we offer the opportunity to either choose and cut or choose and ask for help! Just speak to staff on arrival and discuss your requirements.

Please note that the cutting of your own tree can only be undertaken by persons over 18 years of age and using a bow saw provided. Under no circumstances can any member of the public operate their own chain saw.

What clothing should we wear and what is site access like?

Please wrap up warm and wear appropriate footwear as we are a working forestry enterprise and it can be chilly and very muddy at times! We have relatively level hard standing car parking and cut tree display areas making both pedestrian and wheelchair access possible.

Our plantations at Little Cawthorpe however are very uneven and have numerous tree stumps so please be careful and enter at your own risk - they are not suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking - we do not take any responsibility for injury or loss whilst on site.

Are dogs allowed on site?

Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on a lead at all times - and of course please pick up after your dog.

Do we put your Christmas Tree up for you?

No this is not a service we offer.

How do I look after my Christmas Tree?

Cut Christmas Trees:

  • Purchase your tree as late as possible.
  • Keep your Christmas tree in a cool, sheltered place until you're ready to bring it into the house.
  • Take off any netting and saw off one inch (2.5cm) from the bottom of the trunk – place in use a purpose made Christmas Tree stand, designed to hold water. (If you won't be setting up your tree in the home on the same day, place in a bucket of water. The tree may absorb as much as 4 litres of water in the first day!).
  • When erecting the tree in the home, try to choose a location away from heat sources such as radiators or turn them off if adjacent to the tree – exposure to direct heat will cause greater needle loss.
  • Keep your tree watered.

Pot Grown Christmas trees:

  • These trees are sold as living trees and should be watered regularly before, during and after the festive season to ensure the soil in the pot is kept moist but not waterlogged.
  • Display your pot grown Christmas Trees in a cool room and away from a direct heat source.
